Bio

Carlos Burgos earned a BA in English from Hunter College, City University of New York and an MSEd in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. As a PhD student at Rutgers, he plans to begin building a portfolio of scholarship to deepen understandings of Afro-Latinx masculinities in the United States today that accounts for the socio-political and historical trajectories of indigenous Caribbean masculinities encountering colonial Spanish and US masculinities.
