Amy Bain received a B.A. from UC Berkeley. After completing her M.A., she worked as an International Advocacy Officer with the Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women in Bangkok.

Collard, Andrea

Andrea Collard graduated in January 2005 with a Master of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies, and a Certificate in Medieval Studies. She defended her thesis in December 2004. Andrea has worked as an adjunct professor of English at Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey, and also as a data entry operator at Rutgers University Alumni Records and Gifts Processing. She looks forward to eventually pursuing a PhD in an interdisciplinary field; she has a myriad of interests, and she hasn't settled on one area as yet.

Merelan, Simpdy

Simpdy Merelan, a Haitian-American woman from Neptune, New Jersey, graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Africana Studies in 2002 and an M.A. degree in October 2005. As Department of Justice Grant/Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Program Coordinator, Ms. Merelan coordinated sexual assault prevention efforts at Bowie State University. She was also responsible for conducting sexual and dating violence outreach on campus. Prior to Bowie State University, she served in various student and academic affairs capacities. She acted as an Academic Counselor for Mercer County Community College, Residence Director for Rutgers University - Douglass College Office of Residence Life, a Residential Director for the Upward Bound Program at University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and a Part-time Lecturer for the Women's and Gender Studies Program at Rutgers University. Ms. Merelan also served as a volunteer domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocate for a non-profit organization that provides resources to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault, Womanspace, Inc.
 

Shipley, Amber

Amber Shipley graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington in 2000 with a degree in politics. She spent the next four years working with nonprofit organizations in Seattle and New York including: Women's Funding Alliance, Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (CASH), SMARTgirls, Girls Incorporated, and SeattleWomen.org, an organization she founded. Amber also managed the re-election campaign for a State Representative in Washington State and participated in a nine month program for future Democratic leaders. These experiences helped develop her interest in women and politics, which she pursued as a Master's degree student in the Women's and Gender Studies program. Amber also received a Master's in Public Policy with a concentration in Women and Public Policy and worked with Center on Women and Public Policy at the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. 
 

Lochner, Rosalie Siemon

Rosalie Siemon Lochner earned a B.A. degree in Philosophy from Boston University, and has M.A. degrees in Women’s and Gender Studies from Rutgers University and in Philosophy from DePaul University, where she is completed her Ph.D in 2013. Her dissertation is titled: “Arendt and Spivak: A Feminist Approach to Political Worlding and Appearing.” Her work concentrates on political, ethical and feminist issues. She also works on questions related to child agency in medical ethics. Her M.A. theses considered the ethical dimensions of Martin Heidegger and Gayatri Spivak and the ethical and political margins in Sophocles’ Antigone. She enjoys reading and contributing to food blogs, hiking with her family, and distance running.
 

Wisniewski, Tara

Tara Wisniewski completed her M.A. in May 2005. She began work at the Center for Reproductive Rights in 2001 as a Development Associate and was promoted to Foundation Relations Manager in 2005. She later served in positions at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In addition to this work, she also has a husband and a daughter.
