Dr. Emily Bent earned a doctorate in Global Women's Studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2013. Her dissertation explored girls' political subjectivity and agency at the UN Commission on the Status of Women. She also holds a BA from The College of New Jersey. Her research interests include girls' political agency, youth activism, feminist theories, girls' human rights, third and fourth wave feminist activism, and transnational and global girlhoods.
