Julie Salthouse is the Council Director for Girls on the Run of Hunterdon, Bucks & Warren Counties. As Council Director, she oversees all council operations, with the goal of providing the best possible experience to the program's girls, their families, and coaches. Julie has 10 years of experience working with girls in various capacities, including within secondary school classrooms, nontraditional educational settings, and nonprofit programs focused on women's and girls' leadership and human rights on local, national, and international scales. Previously she served as the Chapter Director for Girls Learn International, and the Program Coordinator of the 16 Days Campaign at the Center for Women's Global Leadership. She is a certified English teacher, and holds an MA in Women's and Gender Studies and an EdM in Counseling Psychology, both from Rutgers University. In addition to overseeing Girls on the Run, Julie also brings her passion for social justice to The College of New Jersey, where she teaches in the Women's and Gender Studies Department. Julie loves reading, travel, documentary film, and jogging, and lives in northern NJ with her husband, Matt, and two beagles, Simon and Savannah.
