2014 Summer Internship Opportunity on Women, Media & Tech

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS), the Department of Women's and Gender Studies (WGS), and the Institute for Women's Leadership (IWL) Consortium are pleased to announce a 3-credit summer internship course on women, media and technology.

Description:
Selected students will be paired with internship sites including but not limited to Ms. Magazine, Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, Women's E-News, Women Make Movies, BUST, The Feminist Press, and the Crunk Feminist Collective.
Students interested in pursuing this internship as part of International Service Learning in Ghana are also encouraged to apply.

Internship dates and locations will vary depending on placement.

A modest travel stipend may be available depending on the internship location.

As a selected intern you will:
1) Work a minimum of 120 hours at your internship placement. Length and timing of internship will vary depending on placement
2) Participate in a 3-credit summer course cross-listed between JMS and WGS including an in-person orientation and final presentation on your experience

Qualifications:
This opportunity is open to Journalism and Media Studies majors, Women's & Gender Studies majors/minors, and IWL Leadership Scholars who are passionate about issues of women and the media.
