Congratulations to WGS Professor Dr. Brittney Cooper!
Dr. Cooper was awarded the Darwin T. Turner Award from African American Review. Her essay, "Maybe I'll be a Poet, Rapper: Hip Hop Feminism and Literacy Aesthetics in Push" won the top journal prize given each year for the best essay representing any period in African American or pan-African literature and culture.
