01:888:321 Queer Contexts: Same-Sex Desire, Culture, and Representation

Course Description

What/who are queer subjects? What makes any given situation/context queer? This class uses theory, film, art, and current events to explore the above questions and contextualize the term ‘queer’ throughout a range of disciplines. Following the movement to extend queer analysis beyond the realm of sexuality, we will try to think ‘sideways,’ using queer methodology as a way to re-imagine the world in which we live as something ‘other’ than what it seems.
