Biographical Notes

V.G. Julie Rajan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University. Her research interests include colonial, post-colonial, and modern-day imperialisms; women and militarism; women’s and human rights; and terrorism and resistance. Her publications include: monographs, Women Suicide Bombers: Narratives of Violence (Routledge 2011) and New Trends in Suicide Terrorism: Al Qaeda, Africa, and the West (in process); and edited collections, Violence and Gender in the Globalized World (Ashgate 2008) and Human Rights in Postcolonial India (forthcoming).
