Abena Busia is Associate Professor of English. Her research interests include African American and African literature and cultural studies. Her major works include: Beyond Survival: African Literature and the Search for New Life, co-edited with Kofi Anyidoho and Anne Adams (1999), Theorizing Black Feminisms: the Visionary Pragmatism of Black Women, co-edited with Stanlie James (1993), and a book of poems, Testimonies of Exile. Recent essays include: "In Search of Home" in Beyond Survival; "Relocations- Rethinking Britain from Accra, New York and the Map Room of the British Museum" in Culture and Difference, edited by David Bennett (1998); "On Cultures of Communication: Notes from Beijing" in Signs 22.1 (1996).
