Her research interests are related to the intersection of gender and politics, with specific emphasis on the performance of masculinities and the gender dimension of institutional and party politics, as well as grassroots activism. Her research focuses on the ongoing transformations and crises in Western political contexts as a result of the Great Recession and its political ramifications. In this context, she studies and conducts fieldwork on the role of new political parties, anti-austerity movements and emerging populist actors.
After finishing her B.A. in Sociology (2004-2009) at Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), Paloma completed a M.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies in the universities of Utrecht (Netherlands) and Hull (UK)
